Full disclosure: other than seeing an episode here or there in the heyday and knowing of the famous chef, the Hell’s Kitchen TV show was never really on our radars.
So are we as excited about this as we are about the new Street Fighter Two slot announcement? Not quite. But you know what we are excited about? A new branded NetEnt slot.
NetEntertainment generally know how to fit the brand to the game features, making something interesting and fun to play, and sometimes even extra-ordinary. So let’s take a look at everything we know about this casino game.
New Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen slot will focus on the chef
Here’s the confusing bit about this piece of news.
NetEnt has specifically said that this is a collaboration with the well known celebrity chef and ITV – the British Broadcasting network that made this series famous in the first place back in 2004.
So far, so good. Except if you do a little digging, Gordon Ramsay was only on season 1 of the ITV series. They then brought in Gary Rhodes and Jean-Christophe Novelli, followed by Marco Pierre White in subsequent series.

Surprised? Us to. We didn’t think there was any Hell’s Kitchen without Gordon Ramsay. That’s because where the ITV serious flounders, the Americans took over and took the whole idea to a whole different level.
In 2005 the Fox network created their own Hell’s Kitchen we know and love today, with American Chefs and Gordon Ramsay as the fiery-tempered and razor-shard wit.
The American Hell’s Kitchen has continued for 18 seasons, and when you think of the TV show, you no doubt think of this particular version.
So which Gordon Ramsay slot are we going to get?
If we are going to take a guess, we are going to get ALL Gordon Ramsay. We are not fully clued up on licensing laws (strangely enough) but we suspect the Americans had to get the branding license from ITV much as NetEnt has done.
Will there be any reference to the first TV series, or any of the contestants over the years. Of course not. We suspect that NetEntertainment will focus on the one thing we all know about Hell’s Kitchen – Gordon.
“Gordon Ramsay is a true rock star of the restaurant world. His strong personality and use of colourful vocabulary as front-man of Hell’s Kitchen have earned him legend status as a multi-Michelin starred celebrity chef, with fans all over the world.” said Bryan Upton, NetEnt Director of Games.
In short, we are getting the celebrity chef front and centre. Which makes sense. With eateries spread from the UK and France to Singapore, Hong Kong and the US, and 16 Michelin stars under his toque, he is the star of the show and (undoubtedly) the video slot review once we play.
What do we know about this new Hell’s Kitchen slot?
Nothing much to be honest. NetEnt is keeping their cards close to their chest on this one, either because they have no idea what they will be doing with the red-headed chef, or because they can’t wait to surprise us.
If you know nothing about the man himself is that he has colourful use of language at the best of time, with plenty of catchphrases to catch the imagination. So surprises we will almost definitely get.
“[The Gorden Ramsay Brand] allows us to produce a true slot with a strong narrative and a lot of adult fun! We can’t wait to see what our players think of what we have in store for them.” Continued Bryan Upton, NetEnt Director of Games.
In short, they won’t be bleeping out the swearing or cursing. So if you’re a little sensitive about this stuff, maybe this new mobile slot game isn’t for you.
When is Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen slot out?
All we have set for sure is that the game will launch ‘later this year.’ So, basically, sometime in 2020. We suspect, considering the name and brand, that it’s going to be somewhere between August to October.
Why? Well, the Street Fighter II slot is due out in May 2020. And NetEnt has also announced that a New Trillionaire Video slot from the Fashion TV brand will also be coming out in 2020, but with no specific date.

Generally speaking, you get a spring slot release, a summer slot release and then an autumn or winter release.
It’s a total guess, but a Trillionaire online slot, based around glamour and bling, seems perfect for the summer. So Hell’s Kitchen will probably be ready for the autumn or winter.
Will it tantalise our tastebuds?
We started this post knowing very little about the Hell’s Kitchen TV show and a little bit about Gordon Ramsay. We finish it by saying we probably won’t be watching the TV show, but will probably still try the slot.
Because so far Netent tends to do fairly interesting things with their branded games. The Ozzy Osbourne slot hits a couple of off notes for us, but it’s interesting enough to get us to come back from time to time.
As we write in the Creature from the Black Lagoon slot review, that on the other hand, is a perfect mix of features and theme, where even if you don’t know the original movie, you can enjoy a well-made game.
That said, this game isn’t for us. It’s for those of you who’ve watched every series, smile at every “My Gran Could Do Better!” and “This lamb is so undercooked, it’s following Mary to school!” scream coming out of the mouth of the hero in this upcoming Hell’s Kitchen slot machine.
Till then, you have a grand and huge selection of NetEnt slots to pick at one of the best casinos, with fast cashouts, friendly staff and easy to use casino site.
