First impressions? Silent Run is a cross between the board game Battleships and the movie The Hunt for the Red October. Losing yourself in the Pacific Ocean, with its Cold War/ World War esc logo and war time navy graphics, it’s particularly effective as a theme and the sounds are incredible. You are truly immersed in an underwater war environment.
It’s a shame, that as NetEnt slots go, we kind of expected more impressive features and graphics. Don’t take us wrong, the theme works, but it doesn’t snap, crackle and pop. It’s fairly average from what we’ve come to expect and, worse, it’s not mobile. If it was mobile we would probably be more forgiving.
That said, we still think you should have a few spins – two of our recommended casinos have now released it and it’s certainly above average when it comes to slots. Check it out at Vera&John and Mr Green.
So what can you expect? On the reels you will find the familiar A,K,Q,J, 10 symbols along with mines, torpedoes, submarines, depth charges and a warning light which acts as a WILD.
If you are lucky enough to find an Echo Bonus symbol on reel 3 you will be in for a shot at playing the bonus game. You can win up to 250,000 coins with the bonus game as you peak through the periscope to choose the enemy ship to fire your torpedoes on, all in the hope to blow them out of the water and win. You can get up to 10x multipliers, meaning there is a decent payout and makes the standard click and pick features far more interesting. If at any time during the game you manage to blow up the Premium ship you’ll be in for a generous reward.
Wild Symbols: The warning light Wild symbol substitutes for all symbols except the Echo Wild symbol.
Echo Wild: Appearing on reel 3 it sends out 3 bursts of sonar in search of hidden Wild symbols to increase your winnings.
So go on. It might not match some of our favourite NetEnt slot, but still stands out from many of the offerings out there. Play Silent Run online now at Vera&John or Mr Green.
