You don’t need to know who James Dean was to enjoy what is, essentially, a movie slot theme. Fast cars, aviators, film reels, and the man himself staring broodily at the reels in beautifully rendered images make this easily one of the most beautiful NextGen slot games we’ve seen in a while.
We have a soft spot for the rebel without a cause, which is probably why we gave this game 5 stars. With its soft 1950s rock and roll, which increases in momentum during the free spins, you are transported back to a much cooler time.
That said, even if the theme was as poor as Venetian Rose, we’d still give this a solid 4 star for the features alone.
Bringing back a much loved feature
You have 3 main bonus features, all of which provide a chance for you to win huge amounts.
The main problem comes if, much like the movie star, you live fast and die young. Be careful with this James Dean slot game, sometimes you can’t go 20 spins without hitting a feature, other times you find nothing for 150 spins.
And the features are where this mobile video slot comes alive – whether by giving you expanded wilds with a 3x multiplier, or free spins with extra super spins and a 5x multiplier.
It’s an all or nothing machine, and one where you’ll rarely be bored, even whilst waiting for the bonus features to hit.

James Dean Bonus Features
Wilds: James Dean on a blue background is the wild symbol and replaces all other symbols except James Dean purple, scattered star, or the movie clapper.
The wild symbol shows up on reels 2, 3 and 4 only.
Re-Spins Wild Feature: Not often seen, but if you manage to get 3 wild symbols anywhere over these 25 paylines, you trigger the re-spin feature.
Here, you'll be given anything from 1 to 3 fully expanded wild symbols on reel 2, 3 or 4, and you'll get 3 free spins with a 3x multiplier.
Mostly you'll be lucky to have 1 expanded wild for all 3 spins, but even with that we've had some decent results thanks to that multiplier.
We've also had some awful results, but that's the price you pay for a high variance slot machine.
Scatters and Free Spins: If you get 3 or more scattered Hollywood walk of fame stars on show, you trigger the free spins.
You start with 10 free spins, where all wins are doubled.
You also now get the movie clapper symbol, which if it shows up on reel 3, you start collecting 'Legend Spins'. The Clapper can give you anything from 1 to 4 legend spins.
After your 10 free spins are over, you then play the Legend Spins, where the only difference is that you get a 5x multiplier instead of 2x.
Hard to catch, but almost always worth the wait.
