Will your dreams come true in this classic fairytale slot? Maybe not, but it’s a fun bed time story.

Let’s start with the good stuff. Frog royale is probably one of the better Sheriff Gaming mobile slots. It plays fast on the devices we tested, and more importantly, look as pretty as the princess in white. The design was well thought out and the graphics are as cute and bubbly as you’d expect from the master of 3D slots. The sounds could have certainly be more exciting, but at least the look of this slot makes up for the unimaginative sounds.

So there you have it – a beautiful mobile slot. And does it have plenty of features as we’ve come to expect from Sheriff? Why yes, of course. You get stacked wilds. You can collect golden balls during the main game for instant wins. There is a gorgeous free spins bonus round where you are taken to the enchanted castle to dance the night away with your spins as the reels pay out extra with special symbols. You even get a click me feature that pays out about 20x to 40x your bet when you hit it.

But… but… but… like the classic well told fairy tale, it’s all very tame and hardly surprising. The golden balls granted, are quite innovative, giving you the larger wins of the game. The rest of the features however, hardly every come around, and when they do, it’s not with the big bang you would expect.

You’ll be lucky to get 20x your bet. If you are really really lucky, you could get 40x your bet. With a 95% return to player rate, we would expect something a little higher for what is essentially a low volatility slot – ie. one that doesn’t have a big jackpot, but you enjoy the thrills of the small constant wins. The constant wins are there, but the thrills are too rare for us to classify this as a favourite. If you are going to have lots of features, make sure they hit often enough to thrill. If the features are rare, make sure they pay out big enough to thrill. A good example of a low volatility slot that hits our buttons is Halloweenies. Sheriff take note.

The only exception on the above is the free spins; you won’t hit them often but if you’ve been a really really good boy or girl, the special symbols on the free spins rounds can give up to 25,000 in cash. Not a million dollar jackpot, but still – decent enough to get our interest.

Still A- to Sheriff for improvement on the releases that came before. If we could, we would have given this slot 3.5 stars for going a little above the Sheriff average.

Stacked Wilds: The Frog Royale logo is the wild symbol, replacing all other symbols expect bonus symbols. You'll often see these in groups of stacked threes on reels 2, 3 and 4.

Click Me Game: Visually not massively interesting, but if you get three lilly pad flowers anywhere on the reels, you'll get to pick one of the symbols for a decent 20x to 40x your bet. These only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5.

Golden Ball Symbol: When you start the game you'll notice that each reel has a basket tucked away underneath it, with three little holes in each. Everytime the golden ball symbol is on the reels, it will drop down to the basket, collecting the Princess' balls  (*snigger*) one at a time. Once you've collected three of her balls (*snigger*) each of the reels will pay out an instant prize. Balls. (Us? Children? What?)

Free Spins & Scatters: The Princess herself is the scatter symbol, and if you get 3, 4 or 5 of her anywhere on the reels you'll get 10, 20 and 30 free spins respectively.  These are re-trigerable, but not what you'll call likely. However, the symbols on the free spins round are 'richer' with larger payouts than in the main game. The softly lit castle lounger symbol pays out 5,000 time your line bet if you get five of those ducks to line up in a row. Not a bad win.
