How To Play Cricket Star Mobile Slot
The Cricket Star slot, a 243 ways to win game is probably the only cricket slot game around that we’ve seen. But is the fact that it’s rare enough to make it interesting?
We are going to be 100% honest on two things.
- We are not cricket fans. We don’t like the sport, we know very little about it, and it certainly wouldn’t push us to play on Cricket Star mobile slot.
- This is a copy of the Football Star slot released in mid 2014. We gave that one 3 stars because we liked that theme a bit better. So bear that in mind cricket fans.
The animations, the look, the feel of this Microgaming game is exactly the same as that of its copy. There’s lots of animations and little design touches that gives this 5 reel video slot a authentic and exciting look and feel.
Every symbol is unique and representative of the sport. You even get wild wickets showing up on reels 2, 3 and 4 and turning one random reel completely wild adding extra depth to the gameplay.
It’s nice little touches that brings the sport to the screen.
Shame about the boring base game
Ok, if the theme had excited us a little more, maybe we wouldn’t be as harsh.
Because let’s be honest, this is one of the few online slot machines with collapsing reels. And we love those. We loved them in Pixies of the Forest, and we loved them in the Gonzo’s Quest slot.
Here though, they are, at best, pretty, with very little wins to be found during the base game. Unlike in the two slot games we’ve just mentioned, which have some very big hits throughout.
The fact that there are stacked wild symbols on reels 3, 4 and 5 help bring some excitement from time to time but… much like cricket… there’s a lot of nothing for a loooooong time in between the excitement.
(See features section below for details on collapsing reels and the stacked wilds if you’re confused).
Thank-god for the free spins in the Cricket Star slot
Here’s the one bonus feature that redeems this machine. Though you can get up to 25 free spins on 5 scatters, mostly you’ll get 15 free spins on 3 scatters.
Still, that gives plenty of chances for those collapsing reels to help you create some major wins, especially as there’s a multiplier trail giving you extra on every collapsing win.
Though you will still need those stacked wilds to help you create a chain of wins, and hitting that 10x multiplier is near impossible, when you do, the wins here can be sublime.
We are talking 2,100 times your bet. Which for a low variance slot is almost unheard of, especially in Microgaming slots online.
And that’s because it’s the slot equivalent of winning a jackpot. The Cricket Star video slot game might have some interesting numbers, but to reach them you’ll have to be willing to search high and low for them.
Still, if you’re patient enough to watch a game of cricket you’ll have the patience to try this casino game. And at least your budget should last you a while.

Cricket Star Bonus Features
Wilds & Stacked Wilds: The Cricket Star slot logo is the wild symbol and replaces all other symbols except scatter.
What's fun is that there's an extra 40 wilds on reels 3, 4 and 5.
- Reels 1 and 2 have no Wild symbols.
- Reel 3 has a stack of 18 Wild symbols.
- Reel 4 has a stack of 25 Wild symbols.
- Reel 5 has a stack of 3 Wild symbols.
These are where you'll get most of your wins during the game, and allow you to collapse those reels.
Collapsing Reels: Every time you get a win, the winning symbols disappear and all the symbols collapse with more tumbling down from above.
It usually means you get lots of little wins, allowing you to play for longer, all at no extra cost to you. In games like Gonzo, or in Rooks Revenge, these usually come with multipliers, even in the base game.
Not here. Here you get nothing, which means you win, mostly, nothing. But thats why you have the free spins and wilds.
Wild Wickets: At any point during the game, and completely at random, three wickets will show up on reels 2, 3 and 4. A cricket ball will shoot out of the screen, and knock one of those wicket.
That reel becomes wild for the next spin.
Free Spins & Multipliers: 3, 4 or 5 scatters will trigger a generous 15, 20 & 25 free spins.
The reason this is generous is because:
- Those collapsing wins give you an extra 'free' go. Don't forget. So 15 free spins are more like 20 or 25 by the end of it.
- There's a trail of multiplier, which increases with each 'collapse' starting from 1x to 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x and 10x.
Getting past the 2x or 3x multiplier is damn hard, but with those stacked wilds, it's not always impossible.
