We were surprised to find we enjoyed this Microgaming Cashapillar slot on mobile far more than expected.

Unlike many ‘animal style’ slots, the theme actually has a little thought behind the story and, by default, the layout.

And so the story goes that rich ol’ Mr Cashapillar is celebrating his 100th birthday and has thrown a party for all his friends to enjoy. As such, this mobile slot has not 10, not 20 but 100 paylines over 5 x 5 reels.

So first: The theme. Your high cards are presents, and, as the birthday boy is a caterpillar, plenty of flying critters and snails are joining the bug party.

As birthday parties go, we felt the theme was a little chaotic and not incredibly well presented. That said, once you get used to the 5×5 line set-up, the theme can be quite cute and festive. It reminded us of evening summer parties and BBQs on the lawn.

We were not overly familiar with the Cashapillar slot online until it went mobile, so it was a nice discovery for us to play. Because even though the theme didn’t grab us from the word go, the 100 paylines and 6 Million Coins Jackpot certainly did.
