Back in October 2016, Playtech told us they were launching a whole series of classic Batman TV series slots.
These turned out to be a huge success, with Batman & The Joker Jewels being the crown prince of the series, despite their slightly corny 1960s vibe.
We said then in our LuckyMobileCasinos.com Batman slot launch, that this would only be the start and the darker, grittier side of DC would be coming over the coming months.
Well, Playtech studios has finally confirmed what we suspected all along: hello a long 2017/2018/2019 full of future DC comic book movies.
What slots can we expect to come in the future?
In 2016 Playtech only got the rights to some of the fringe DC / Warner Bros entertainment portfolio.

Specifically, they were allowed:
- The classic 1960s Batman TV series staring Adam West; of which they made 6 Batman slots
- The recently release Green Lantern slot based on the flop 2011 film with Ryan Reynolds
- The rights to several Superman properties; including the original Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980) with Christopher Reeves, as well as the 2015 Man of Steel film.
The last three, you’ll notice, haven’t been released yet, but are in the pipeline. So they asked for more.
Mor Weizer, CEO, Playtech, stated: “This is a hugely significant deal for Playtech and we’re delighted to have a wider-reaching exclusive DC film- and TV-branded content licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products. We’ve had phenomenal feedback from our licensees based on the high-quality and calibre of the DC-branded games we rolled out in 2016.”
And yes, before they’ve even completed the first set, Warner Bros has gone full steam ahead with the rest of the more iconic properties that they’ve been handed on a silver platter.
Watch the short video below announcing all the slots from DC Entertainment.
Batman V Superman slot will no doubt be first
We should probably say that Playtech haven’t announced the order of which they will release these new DC slot movies.
But, in order to be ready for the third release in November 2017 (see below), they will have to get the movies that have been and gone.
And whilst the Batman V Superman film no doubt disappointed many, the characters within are too iconic not to cash in on their popularity.
Yeah, it’s a little cold to view it like that, but lets be honest, Playtech aren’t doing these slots out of the kindness of their hearts, even if the guys making it happen to be fans of the Dark Knight and the boy scout.

Then you’ll get the Suicide Squad slot
The Suicide Squad film made over $700 million worldwide in the box office.
Thats some impressive numbers, especially as about 50% of that cash was handed out purely thanks to Margot Robbie’s short shorts.
That said, any mobile online slot that features Will Smith as Deadshot, an almost perfect Harley Quinn and one of the crazier versions of the Joker will have to have a mad streak we can’t wait to experience.
Leading to the Justice League slot come November 2017
That’s what it’s all leading up to, isn’t it? The Man of Steel, Batman V Superman… all just tasters to the big Playtech Justice League movie slot coming at the end of the year.
The actual slot may come earlier, but we doubt it. Branded movie slots tend to be tied in with the release of the film, so no obvious plot holes or characters are revealed ahead of time.
Are we going to see more?
Like the Wonder Woman slot? After all, isn’t the movie coming June 2017?
Maybe, but Playtech haven’t mentioned it. We suspect, if these sets of slots are particularly successful, that Warner Bros would be happy to cash in on their contract with the most popular superheroes around.
After all, after the Justice League, we are suppose to get a Flash, Aquaman, Batman, and Cyborg movie.
Playtech made Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3 slots; we’re sure they will be open to creating numerous versions of DC superheroes movie games.
But wait… we already have DC hero slots!
Well done DC comic book fan. You’ve clearly been reading our online slot reviews and our new slots posts.
You would have noticed that there’s another software pumping out DC comic book slots, and in our opinion, damn good ones.
The NextGen Gaming DC slots started coming out in June of last year, with the re-launch of cryptologic’s Batman, Green Lantern and the Flash slot.
So yes, we already have a Green Lantern game, we even have a Justice League mobile slot, based on the New 52 comic books.
The Comic Book Vs the Film rights
We suspect that NextGen went straight to the source, DC comics, and got the rights to the characters from the comic books.
Playtech, on the other hand, went to Warner Bros., who they themselves have a license by DC comics to create their superheroes into film form.
It’s a bit of a small technicality, but big enough that we will end up with two sets of Batman slots – and we’re not counting the very many 1960s Batman games we currently have.
Who will create the best games? Well, so far NextGen have done an incredible job of breathing new life into these characters and slot games, so Playtech have a lot to prove.
Will these Playtech DC slot games be any good?
You can never underestimate Playtech.
After all, those 1960s Batman slots we keep mentioning are… really good fun. Ok, the Batman and Mr Freeze Fortune is only just playable, but all others, including our second favourite Batman & Catwoman Cash, are pretty great.
“We’re excited to grow our DC-branded offerings with Playtech and showcase many of DC’s iconic Super Heroes in these immersive, action-packed games,” said Pam Lifford, President, Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
We expect that Playtech won’t ruin this chance by creating sub-par slots.
All part of the real money jackpot slot games network
The really exciting part of all of this is that each and everyone of these DC slot games will be part of a larger progressive jackpot.
Much how The Incredible Hulk slot shares the same jackpot as the Avengers slot machine, so all the DC games will have four progressives you can win on any spin.
In fact, those Batman 1960s TV slots already host them.
So if you want to be part of the DC comic book revival, you’ve got to try these bright colourful games.
