If you enjoy the original Battleship slot machine, this is a very different game, so don’t try and compare. Instead come at this as with any other IGT mobile slots… a small amount of excitement and trepidation.
First things first. If you play the free Battleship slot on demo mode, you’ll notice the betting limit it high. This is only in the free-play mode of the game, once you play for real money, the betting limits are far more acceptable.
Secondly, the original online slot machine came out back in 2009. So this slot looks dated. The fact that on every spin the symbols are blurry up to the point when all of the five reels stop doesn’t help the feeling that you are playing a machine that is past it’s sell by date. It’s by far prettier in terms of layout than some of the other IGT slots, such as Kitty Glitter mobile slot, but we probably still prefer to play that slot on our Android smartphone than Battleship on the bigger tablet screen.
The bonus game is good fun however. Unlike the online slot, there is only one main bonus mini game in the mobile Battleship game, where you pick battleships to decide how many free spins, multipliers and instant cash you get. That’s not the fun part. The fun part is watching as the free spins give you more than a generous sum. That’s where you’ll get your real big potential wins of the game and your potential in-game jackpot.
However, the base game left us feeling a little cold. Don’t take us wrong, we got the occasional big win that should have more than thrilled us, but the theme, graphics and sounds are so bland it was hard to get excited about any of them. Also probably didn’t help that this mobile slot is certainly far more favourable towards those willing to risk it all and bet high – which we wouldn’t mind as much if Battleship mobile slot didn’t rely so heavily on the stacked wilds and the double multipliers to bring any decent wins, when every other win leaves you unimpressed.
Not our cup of tea, but fans of the original online video slot could find enough similarities here to still enjoy it.

Battleship Bonus Features
Wilds and Stacked Wilds: The Battleship is the wild symbol replacing all other symbols and coming with a 2x multiplier. It also comes stacked, giving you the bigger wins of the game. You'll be reliant on these to bring you the few thrills that can be found during the base game.
Scatter Symbol & Free Spins Victory Bonus: The symbol with big 'BONUS' written on it is the scatter and also the trigger for this click me / free spin bonus round. The rules of the game are simple, you'll have a board with battleships, like the original childhood game. Each and every ship is going to be hit at least once. However if you get 3, 4 or 5 scatters on the board you'll get 2, 3 or 4 extra missiles to throw at the screen.
These will then double which ever of the hidden free spins, multipliers and instant cash is hidden behind the ships you've picked. We wish we could give you an 'average' of what to expect, but we simply couldn't hit this feature often enough to get an idea. We found we got about 3 to 8 free spins with maybe a 6x or 8x multiplier, but it's not very conclusive.
